Like a film set from the seventies

A young fashion brand from Barcelona. Founded in 2018 by two friends. Nude Project wanted a shop in Amsterdam and found a building on the corner of the Leidsestraat and the Keizersgracht. The former Sacha shoes.

XS architects came on board as the so-called Architect of Record, the local architect. Applying for permits, keeping in touch with the municipality, supervision during construction. And advising whenever the design on paper did not match the reality of the building.

The interior design came from Eldepartemento in Valencia. The building team: mostly young Spanish artists. Little structure, lots of energy.

The interior looks like a film set from the seventies. But beneath the surface is a well thought-out retail machine. Installations for climate, light and sound that many a club would dream of.

The role of XS was therefore not only technical, but also organisational. Switching between Spanish designers, local builders and the municipality of Amsterdam. It helped that the landlord had excellent as-built drawings. A solid basis for both the permit application and the design.

A total experience

This shop had to feel like a total experience. The visitor steps into a world of art and music. Sound, light, climate. The experience taken care of down to the last detail. The technology behind it completely invisible. That is only possible if you know in the preparation where every installation and safety provision goes. So that nothing has to be added afterwards.
